We also have Paul Wood in his monkey suit on match days and when asked who he was supporting in a Wire/Wigan match stated Wigan. I’d not be paying him.

Got to disagree Karetaker. I’d still go for Cleary.
If you get chance just rewatch the game again. Penrith were best side 1st half You could only see one winner Cleary’s kicking game controlling it. First 20 minutes of 2nd half Mam with the hat trick was awesome. But then why you pay the big bucks Cleary turns up with a performance that people will talk about for years to come. 40/20 etc, finishing off with the winning 6 points.

Agreed he was the man of the match first half performance was exceptional and then coming back in the 2nd he basically done everything g we needed george Williams to do yesterday

We should have WINNERS in our leadership. Not nearly men or journeymen.

Sam Burgess - OK
Gleeson - OK
Stef Ratchford - errr
Gary Chambers - come on

Pretty obvious really.
We’ve got owners without whose money we would be nowhere so we can’t call that.
What I don’t understand is they wouldn’t have that money if they weren’t exceptional at running their respective companies. However, they are just true Rugby League fans like you and me witnessed by Moran being in the away end yesterday.
When it comes to running a successful club they employ a CEO to do that, Fitzpatrick. He is good at marketing/advertising which when getting the job on the back of Tony Smiths years was pretty easy. The product on the field though is not good enough and Fitzpatrick for me should have gone just for what as been delivered on the field in the last 2 years with money invested.
We’ve hopefully now got the next best scenario with Fitzpatrick being taken away from rugby duties and this being given to Chambers.
We are essentially going back 2 years in employing a novice coach with no head coach experience in Burgess.
Fitzpatrick must of fallen out with Briers 2 years ago because the route we are going down now we might as well of given Lee a go.

Nobody who is at Warrington now, ‘fell out’ with lee.
And the gig at Broncos had, in part, help from Simon Moran (I heard).

Where do you think the rot is?

I think it's wider than KF. It's more endemic, almost in the fabric of the place which reflects in the standards set and the fans mindset. A good example is the appointment of a DOR - which was exactly the right move but the choice of candidate was classic Warrington. I would love to know the recruitment process behind that.

You've answered it for me W71.

I don't think 'rot' was the best term I could have used. It's maybe a little insulting to those at the top who've tried hard to achieve success for the club. However, I think we're a place where players come, earn a lot more money than they would otherwise, with a lot less pressure from the benefactors. I think this was evident from Mulhern's wage demands. He's okay as player, but he wants a slice of the crazy money pie that he sees others eating from. And if a player gets that slice at Warrington, they get it on a long-term future-securing deal which means they can (intentionally or otherwise) totally take their foot off the gas. And when we yet again fail to achieve the total sum of our expensive parts, the benefactors just seem to take it in their stride.

I thought the move to bring Powell in was a statement of intent, but then after he failed to sort out the culture (which he acknowledged after the Wakefield game) the club releases a statement claiming they maybe didn't treat the players shipped out as well as they could. Personally I think Toby King was treated magnificently. His punishment for underperforming and the couple of 'cultural misdemeanours' off the field, was to ship him to another top team and make up the difference of his salary to ensure he didn't lose out. We'd have been better dropping him and bringing in a cheap replacement, until he realised what he had to change to play first-team rugby again.

We'll see how Burgess goes, because if neither he or Powell can sort out this comfort-culture, I really don't know what we are supposed to do.

To be fair this isn't a bad thing IMO. I don't have the full Sky Sports package but I do have Sky TV including Mix so if anything it might help with viewing figures?
