Not sure red cards would help us as I dont think disciplinary will be until after the weekend.

I agree with the comments on here. There was effort on show and a few flashes of skill. Ratchford justified his selection with a controlling display in the halves; Currie and King completely dominated their opposite numbers down the left hand side.

Our organisation on last tackle is very poor though.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Great stuff from Ashton and Thewlis and the first time I've seen this lot with some team spirit

I did wonder if the 6 again hooter was on silent mode for us. Good to see that we can score from within the 20. There was clearly some team spirit shown, at least a couple of long range breaks could easily have resulted in tries (for us).
With Ratchford in the halves the left edge seems to benefit, the right not so much.
Will have done their confidence the world of good, but I suspect it is still quite fragile.
I thought Mulhern and Bullock put in good shifts last night, Cooper did his job and Philbin slightly more effective than of late.
Hughes was Hughes, Currie showed he can still cause problems.
D Clark put on a good show and Walker a live wire if a little “grabby” in the tackle. Magoulis, feeling his way, I feel he could turn into a Waterhouse, but that is probably wishful thinking .
In the backs, well I still think we are currently a better team with Ratch in rather than out.
I have high hopes of Thewlis and Ashton. I still think Charnley is a spent force I’m afraid, unless it is a walk in. King is class but needs a bit of time to get his confidence back. Mr Hop Skip and a Jump still has a way to go to get me onside.

He always does. He's a very solid and reliable part of our spine. We are definitely weaker without him in the 13. I am happy to accept the judgment of others that Thewlis is the better full back and we do need something different from the past few years to take us to that elusive Grand Final win. However, we do still miss Ratch when he doesn't play. He is by no means anywhere near our weakest link.

And yet 5 tries down the left hand side, 3 by him. He is finding his form and will prove an asset.

As I expected. 2 poor teams. Wire with enough to beat a depleted Salford, we’re lucky that Hull will be sore and depleted with a days less rest.
Hopefully if we don’t turn up late again, we may get a win there too.
That could be our only points until August.

I spoken to reps of the sponsors from Hoover, who are very disappointed with the season, but they are committed and see it as of transition.

That's a gloomy outlook! We've a run of 5 tough fixtures to come, with some easier games then in June (using the current table to quantify "easier"). It might sound optimistic to believe we'll pick up a win, or even two, but it's not beyond the realms of possibility. We needed the win yesterday, which relieves some of the pressure for the time being. The test now until June, is to not get zero league points, never mind August.

For those who watch the NRL… has Magoulis always been that shape or is he completely out of shape because he’s not been able to play much and is returning from injury?

He looks like he’s been on the kebabs.

Maybe we are feeding him up to try to turn him in to a prop?

Although the props went alright last night. Bigger test against Hull though.

Are you like James Stewart and have spotted Harvey the Pooka in our defensive line?
