No, it came down to money. I'm told Wigan are loaning Hirst back to Oldham next season with the parent club paying the majority of his increased wages.

It's very weird. It's as weird as the Brad Dwyer signing. The club are trying to move Bullock on. So why extend him for 2 years ?

I suppose that's why we went for Dan Russell, I don't know why but i've just got a really good feeling about Russell.
He's a big powerful guy who has good speed to him from what i'm reading about him from fans across the pond, and he has a lot of experience.
I can't put my finger on why i have a good feeling, but i think he's gonna be great for us

I think Bullock is the most frustrating rugby league player I've seen as a Wigan fan. Physically he's got everything you'd want in a prop and sometimes he shows he can do it but he can't sustain a run of form. I just don't think he has it upstairs, which is a shame because if he could get himself in the right place mentally, on a consistent basis, he could be one of the best in the league. His career will end up as a bit of a waste.
