i think this is a bit of a mountain being made out of a mole hill...yes maybe he should try and come across a bit more business like but in his defence i can imagine he's just a chummy with ray french and anyone else there as he is with skents so he probably doesn't feel the need

and to infer what he is like around the players from his actions in an interview i think is a mistake its obviously not going to be the same

forget last season, as jimmy says, that was a different situation, we've lost 2 games yes both had a very bad collapse at end but its just 2 games if in 10 more we are in same position time to start putting pressure on

i think franchising should allow stability for managers as well as young players imagine if united had got rid of ferguson...they gave him a good 3 years or so before anything happened at all look how that ended up!

and on topic of ferguson forget getting big money manager in give jimmy a chance but get ferguson in as a management consultant in some form of role even just an hour a week we could swap it for united using hj get rid of scousers 2 birds with one stone!

To be fair I think you are talking utter codswollop!!

The situation at the end of last season is exactly the same as it is now, nothing has changed other than Nigel Wright. Jimmy has had a full off season with them and they look less organised now than they did then.

Warrington gave Paul Cullen a great deal of time, 6 years in fact and he just got to a point where he struggled to take them any further. Are you suggesting they do the same with Jimmy Lowes?

If we give Jimmy that long we may not get a franchise next time round, clubs need supporters to get a licence well unless you are 20 miles from another club and then anything goes.

Spot on Geordie. Its worrying times at the moment. Put it this way, i would have Cullen instead of Lowes at this time. We will continue to go around in circles unless the club is determined to find a "World Class" coach they promised and ensure that we are going in the right direction.

Lowes just isn't the man, unless something spectacular happens.

they gave cullen a bit too long i agree but you can't argue with the transformation that happened at the club the majority of which we have cullen to thank for... he had a big role in both the team turning into a team that could compete in superleague and also a big hand in turning the club into a busines when he was in his marketing role (it seems to me anyway)

jimmy got some great results last season out of a team that was disfunctional when he took charge unfortunately they eventually ran out of steam

don't judge the full pre-season that jimmy has had on the back of 2 games, if we are still struggling to put 80 minutes together after half a dozen games then start getting concerned

Amen.

After reading the comments on here, I expected something more spectactular than what I actually saw. My observations:

1. He looks miserable. He probably is. I get the impression if he could get on with coaching and never do another intreview again he would. I don't criticise him for that other than he needs to be realistic. In 2009, he has to speak with the media.

2. He should have let Anderson answer that question. It made them both look daft. All Anderson would have said is 'we feel we let everyone down, most of all ourselves, we're working hard on the training paddock....yada yada yada.' There should be a little bit of distance between a coach and his players, makes it easier to drop them. He's not supposed to be their mate. Not any more.

3. He seems to take any criticism personally. At the time of writing, he doesn't know he's born. When you consider the crap that Cullen had to put up with for 20 years, he's got it easy.

4. I thought Gary's questions were excellent. He's been criticised on this board my amateurs, telling him a) how to do his job and b) to do it more forcefully. Well, that criticism can't be levelled at him anymore.

Finally, all the above is largely irrelevant if we win. In an ideal world we'd have a media friendly/savvy winning coach. At the minute, I'd take a miserable winner any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

and for what its worth i think that the so much talked about disruptive influences in our camp are not the long standing squad members, who have been part of teams who have had great enthusiasm and heart (nat wood, danny lima era springs to mind), but some of the more recent additions who seem to have come here eager to do well and performed well in first handful of games but quickly spat dummies out when they realised they weren't enjoying the life they lead and training styles they had when they lived in a certain antipodean region (not naming any names)

i reckon they are the real problem in dressing room, mm seems like a totally arrogant ***** to me. rant over

Seeing as they came from Manly and Melbourne, the two best teams in the NRL, they have come from environments where the expectations, training and professionalism were about ten notches above what they are at Warrington. So I wouldn't be surprised if they don't rate what goes on here.
