Matthew Turner of the Warrington Guardian just tweeted the following. An horrific half in which the Wire fortunate to be only 20-6 down and the first 20 mins the worst he has seen in his six years covering the club.Seems like Powell being thrown under the bus.

It's easier to be more upbeat when your team is at least giving it a very good go against the likely treble winners of 2022.

Theres nothing to defend but I find picking out Fitzpatrick bizarre; as if we will perform much better if the club shop is run a bit better.

Most of them haven't forgiven him for not sacking Tony Smith, he's never gonna sack his former boss.

Make that 20-0.Can’t see Powell lasting.

So are you saying this is Powell's fault ?

This is 100% down to the players refusal to adapt to somthing new or just not being good enough to play that way and win.

For how long have we been a player short or the next signing will be the one, like vvd at Liverpool !! Our best players are as culpable for this garbage too some of them have been here for Smith price and now Powell with the same crappy attitude!

We don't have players who will do what's needed to improve to become winners if they've not done it over the last 2/3 years why expect it now. Majority are just happy to pick up their wages win or lose they're not really bothered. We can bring in any coach and will get the same performances over the season. 16 players out of contact, and I can only think of 2/3 who I would extend, not just based on this season but the last 3/4 seasons. Our squad needs a major refresh which I think we will see. I wonder if any have been told already to look for another club ?

What I think is needed is for the club to stand by powel love the players who've gained too much power in the dressing room and back him in replacing whoever !! This will completely change the culture at the club overnight almost players will come and know they have to perform and deliver to stay at the club we've become a soft touch in rewarding failure.

No way am I blaming Powell for this, you would have to be blind to not see it’s the players, hopefully a lot of them replaced next season.

I wish there were positives that we could take at the minute but we just can't. They're absolutely hopeless. Tony Smith shipped gleeson out mid-season and it seemed to shake the rest of the squad out up, we need our lot to be shaken out of their comfort zone right now.

I still cannot understand why on earth Powell gives Hughes the captaincy. It gave out the wrong signal for me, and the gauntlet seems to have found itself on a fishing boat off the cost of the Faroe Islands.
