Re: This week’s disciplinary : Wed Jul 26, 2023 1:50 pm

Is your point that it’s ok then, are you saying because he done it in that clip you shown that’s it’s ok. Then again seeing as it’s one of your players we are talking about of course you going to defend it. Like most I’m no fan of Saints but that technique as to be taken out the game and if in Wellens comments the response from the RFL is no they not doing nothing is pathetic. Knowles does a tackle like that agains Leeds he will be crucified just because it’s Knowles. No way am I defending Saints here just this is spoiling the game.

I'm not condoning foul play at all,so just forget about that, but...........He was asking for injuries not to be taken into account a while ago, now he's asking for them to be taken into account now it's his players injured. His hypocrisy stinks.
BTW - Are you insinuating that Asiata has deliberately gone out to injure a player? If so, that's mental.
Wellens job is on the line with the prospect of no silverware, and for me he's brought the game into disrepute.

No I’m not insinuating anything. But I get a coach comes out making comments when it’s his players and yeh I get coaches say nothing when it’s not their players. Again I say the MRP are not fit for purpose if what Wellens says about providing information on injuries to affect the outcome of disciplinary. Stand to be corrected here but he said in the case of Cooper’s injury medical records were shown he is saying the decision was made before Saints were able to show medical evidence. If that’s true then that’s bad by the MRP/RFL. I’m not having a pop at any team or coach it’s about what look like inconsistencies from the RFL

Because Asiata's tackle has been deemed legal, and no case to answer. Knowles wasn't.
You'll be wearing a red v neck at your next match.

My point was that Wellens is only throwing his arms up because it was his players that were injured in a currently legal tackle. I'm not buying this feigned wider concern.

So what tackle is it that we now have to ban - going in with shoulder on, or around, the knee of the attacking player even if it is not the standing leg?

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

Re: This week’s disciplinary : Wed Jul 26, 2023 5:39 pm
This is pretty simple, isn't it?

Asiata's tackles were not illegal, so he shouldn't face any punishment.

However, Asiata's tackling technique has injured 4 players in one match, which suggests the law that says Asiata's tackling technique is legal needs changing immediately.

As for Wellens supposedly whining, I'd be disappointed if he never brought this up as he has - For the disciplinary committee to almost brush this off as part of the game is gross incompetence on their part. They are surely there to be monitoring and constantly reviewing this sort of thing and for a player to injure 4 players and for it not to raise some sort of inquiry suggests they aren't fit to do their job.

Seems to me they only like to be seen taking action when it's trendy stuff like naughty words, rather than when players are having career-threatening injuries inflicted on them?

You win the internet this week. Like I said earlier the MRP/RFL are not fit for purpose.

And the way the RFL is run I would like to know what the odds are that Asiata cops a ban of some sort next week or at the very least gets cited for any reason. The sport is becoming almost unbearable to follow.

I have looked a few times now at the Asiata tackles, particularly the one on Paasi.
I would like to see how many other injuries he has caused in his career. The RFL will have to come up with something that allows the normal tackle round the legs but prevents this sort of reckless diving in below the knee (particularly from the side). Any club would protest if one man had caused so many injuries. Wrecking ball/loose cannon ... I have a lot of sympathy for Saints on this one.
