So how long do I have to give Burgess and Long pishing up the joint before i'm allowed to criticise them? Seems with Powell we weren't allowed until he'd been in charge for 20+ months. Is it the same for Burgess? Or are we going to see sense quicker on here this time around? ....... Another moronic couple years ahead.

Too late, you've started already dear chap.

Wow. Just wow. I have no words about how bad this appointment is. Prove me wrong.

I agree.
Nothing against him personally but he is light on coaching experience.
And with Long or Gleeson.....

Burgess allegedly -
drug taker, gambler, misogynist

Long and Glesson - well they go back a long way. TS got rid of Glesson due to (iirc) his bad influence. Long has not exactly got a blemish free record (St. Helens market and all that).

This is a big gamble.

The only positive is that Chambers will become director of rugby - hopefully this will take workload off Burgess and put KP one step away from the rugby side of things.
I like Marshall but dont know enough of his influence on things.

I'd like them to have appointed a full time psychologist - so much at the club needs that treatment!

Having said all that - good luck Sam and Gary.

Yawn!

Powell was criticised very early on. Did you not see the flak that Gazwire got. Go with the flow. There will always be those on here who want to give people a chance, others will want a change at the first sign of trouble. Most will be somewhere in the middle. Take a chill pill.
.

That was not early on haha, the whole of last year there were only a few criticising Powell and everyone kept saying 6 games next year. While watching us almost get relegated. The only question that should be being asked these days is, do you genuinely think Burgess will win us a GF? If the answer is no, then what the hell are we doing wasting our time? I'm done with mediocrity. But i'm sure a 4th place finish next year and a first round play off win will placate everbody for another few years.

I'm more convinced than ever that Wires are part social experiment, part Truman-show style reality show and the world is watching us in secret and wondering how Moran & co will top the season 4 cliffhanger.

Did most want it NO can we do anything about it NO. Let’s just get behind it and see how it pans out and what kind of recruitment we do.

Is there a more entertaining club off-the-field? Has there ever been in the history of RL? The true enjoyment is the spectacle that lies before and after the 80 minutes. So I tell myself anyway.

We've pretty much tried everything else though, so what the hey... why not? And all this is a distraction from the real big question that remains unanswered... What do we do with Mata'utia?

We have to give the guy a chance, and if it doesn't work then hopefully we will learn a lesson (doubt it).

As Director of Rugby I think that Chambers has the much harder job to be honest, the rugby side of the club seems to be generally pretty shambolic.

Welcome to the Wire Sam, here's hoping you give us an exciting team to watch.

Here's a question for the fans not giving Burgess a chance....what would you have said if we had appointed Adrian Lam 12 months ago? Just shows that you never know eh?

Well Powell now gone there is no need to persuade him from retirement

That's true, and it sort of points to what a lot of us believe in that the coach isn't necessarily the whole problem at this club. But bringing in a DOR and a coach that hopefully the players can respect and turn up for, is a start.

They've got my blessing. Even Sean Long.

Can he sit the last few games out though? His pony tail must be exhausted after bouncing around with all those sideways runs? :D
