To the nay-sayers - DP came here with loads of coaching experience and no NRL “baggage” that I’m aware of. And look where that got us - we’ve just lived through the most excruciating 2 seasons. On forums recently I’ve seen us described as a “dumpster fire” and a “sh!tshow” and they’re just the selected highlights.
I’m amazed anyone is willing to give us a go - let alone someone with Sam’s playing pedigree.
And I have to say whenever Sean Long has been a guest on Sky he’s talked a lot of sense - definitely a sound rugby brain. If we can get him on board as assistant I think there’s a lot to be excited about. It probably won’t be plain sailing but it must be a lot less embarrassing than the drivel we’ve had to put up with of late.
Let’s get behind Big Sam and I have a feeling that this time next year we’re the ones coming up with colourful descriptive terms for our near neighbours.
He certainly won’t be hiding in the coaches box at full time.
