| Quote 750="750"Saints were poor for the first 30 minutes just too many mistakes.
We cut those out in the second half and win easily really .
What is it with the playoffs with Warrington ?
Will you ever win a championshio or ever get to a grand final ?
I think your team is too old as you seem to tire at the end of a season and in the last 20 minutes of games.
You need to promote and PLAY more youth , keep them in the team !'"
How old do you think Riley Atkins Ratchford Myler McCarthy Hill and Cooper are (with Harrison to return)?

So it's a good mix then.
Age is not the reason we played poorly yesterday.

| I think Sia was the game breaker.
Saints had a period of the game sat in the wire half, we kept turning the ball over or gave relieving penalties. Warrington got good field position from these up to the point where Warrington scored their try. Don't forget Meli almost gave you another one, if it had not been for Jones, you could have been 12 - 0 up.
However, as luck would have it Jones was there and Sia came on just in time. Your defence was just as good as ours but Sia is one of those players a bit like Cunningham in his prime, if he is going to go for the line it's going to take a lot to stop him at speed at that kind of range. All teams have players like that, who can not gaurantee, but have a high % chance of scoring, when up against firm defence.
The loose carries and knock on's continued for both teams really, but sia again took full advantage, rather than just diving on the ball to make it safe.
After that we really did not look back and Sia and TP kept the intensity up from our forwards with some bone crunching tackles.
I'm hoping you don't come out of next week as you don't become poor over night and the next time it maybe a lot closer.

| The Meli non try at the end due to foot in touch not seen by Silverpud on his big telly sums up the evening for me.
I get days like that, but unlike me Warry get to put it right next week.

Same team that would have won the league had it not been decided to sacrifice the London game in favour of a victory at Wembley.

| Saints deserved to win.
Their defence was awesome - ours wasn't too bad I thought.
We couldn't handle Soliola though.
Also we bombed 3 chances.
Both us and Saints made plenty of unforced errors -too many.
Don't agree that 'rotation' had any bearing on this match - unlike a few on here
We missed Carvell, Westwood and Harrison, but we've got to be able to cope with that.
I also think that Saints gameplan worked and ours (not sure exactly what it was) didn't.
No complaints from me - even though I'm hacked off we lost.

| High five to Ritchie Myler for his laudable efforts in dealing with Soliola , but disappointing that not one our forwards really made much of an effort to help him out.

SHEESH. I only heard the game on the radio, but I didn't realise we were THAT bad.

| We had our chance and let them off the hook, we'll get chances again and we have to be more clinical. It's as simple as that.
On 30 mins, we had them, we we're dominant, they didn't look like scoring, then two things happened, a charge down didn't pay off (by a fraction) and a wayward St Helens kick gets a flat bounce and we get caught in goal from a 55 meter kick. Game changers that we had no control over. From there, Saints took their chances that we offered up with our poor timing. That's what it is with most of our errors, timing. And we will get that with a rotation policy. Ball's behind/infront of people, running the wrong line and the pass not going to the target. But sticking with the same backline (potentially, pending Hodgson's fitness) will help to eradicate that and passes will find the mark.
I think we need one of the Ben's back, McCarthy as eager and enthusiastic he is just doesn't deliver the same meters as those two, neither does Simon Grix. But the key for me is simply timing our plays. We could have, and maybe should have, seen that game over as a contest in the first 30 mins. Grix should score, Hodgson 2 on 1 and grubbers off the outside of his foot to Riley, the Monaghan scoot when he drops it and the charge down opportunity. On a different day it could have been 12, 18, 24 or anything by 30 minutes, but we just didn't take the chances.

I don't think I heard Thaler ask for checking in touch? at the time i was screaming at my in-laws TV because we'd scored and I've not had a chance to watch it back as the In-laws are still smarting and won't sit down to watch it with me.
