I quite like the idea of Carney playing for us. He was very good at Wigan and the Newcastle. So providing he is fit then why not.

Me too, obvious fitness reservations to one side.

If we were in a playoff, locked in a tight game, do I think he's capable of breaking a tackle and making a 50m+ break, yep.

He's strong out of acting half, looks for work. From those Lions DVD's, you can see that his ethics are good, he's a voice in the dressing room etc.

Good for team spirit as well. He's one player that's allowed to drink before games. It would probably be in his contract, with his address listed as

Various Pubs
King Street
Wigan.

You can pick any player in the league and find mistakes they made. Why not highlight some of the good things he's done or would that be detrimental to your arguement.

yes you can find mistakes in all players ....I wish Wire Fans would realise this....I mentioned Johnsons mistakes because he gets away with them scott free...this can only because of his standing in the game i.e Like Rob mentions his hatrick for GB......playing for Wigan and Bradford Bulls etc....

Kevin Penny was never afforded this luxury.....?

lets be consistant ourselves Paul Johnson has NOT added to the Wing position since replacing Penny. why keep hold of him? Surely we want to start replacing one player with a better one......Wigan did it when they were good ...Saints do it....

saying a player is consistent is not good enough, if we want to win stuff they have to be good at what they do and Paul Johnson is not a good Winger in the memory of man...

but anyway this thread has found new levels of stupidity if we are seriously talking about Brian Carney playing for Warrington wolves

Can somebody in the know inform me if our new signing would not have to get out of bed to go to Church on a Sunday morning?

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

What is the issue with Carney? We are down a winger, it is that simple. Johnson is full of application, but isn't particularly effective, King looks more comfortable back at centre, Riley is more effective at fullback. For whatever reason, Penny is back in the reserves with an imminent return looking unlikely. A winger would be a healthy addition, to a threequartrer line that looks a little lethargic, whilst not forgetting weare down a fullback and centre in Reardon and Gleeson.

No, I was after a reaction as this thread has gone on longer than the worlds longest thread. Can't wait for the signing to happen. (if it does). Who do you think it will be?
