Wonder what happened to the increases in ban length due to frivolous appeals? Saddened could have written even longer posts to us on this subject that we could have skipped.

Presumably it wasn't a frivolous appeal? I don't mind the ban for Lees, there was head contact in there.

It's them letting Matty English off with one of the worst tackles this season that is the issue. If cannonball tackles are allowed again, we're going to see a lot more players on crutches or in wheelchairs. I suspect there would be an enormous controversy if a Saints player did one. The MRP is a farce.

One of the worst tackles of the season?!? Massive overreaction. Seems to me he hits the back of the knee, so joint wasn’t compromised. Penalty and sin bin fair as he should have just wrapped the legs rather than gone in with any force.

I suggest you watch again. He hits the side of the bearing knee. Percival luckily lifted his leg which is why he rotated into the crook of the knee. If Percival had kept the leg planted it could have ended his season.

I’ve watched it, if he had hit from the side and his foot had been planted I agree a lengthy ban, but that wasn’t the case.

The reckless nature of the tackle was punished with a sin bin, better it’s punished on the field than later on. Presumably had the ref spotted the Lees one he would have seen red - but the camera isn’t great viewing it from the highlights posted so I can’t see where the initial contact was

Players on crutches? Yes I believe Mike Cooper is still using his and will be doing so for some time. But of course as we know the MRP is an anti Saints carve up. How many games did Knowles get again?

What has that got to do with anything? Knowles tried to pull Cooper down, he didn't deliberately injure him. English just throws himself through Percival's knee. You'll never look objectively at it as it's a Saints player on the receiving end, so it can't be bad by default. If a Knowles or Mata'utia did that exact tackle it'd be a grade F and you'd think it was horrific.
