Hi all, Saints fan in peace here.

The rumour of Ben Currie coming to Saints keeps popping up on our redvee.net forum for a few different posters. I haven't seen it anywhere else and I've stated on there I find it highly unrealistic.

Is there anything in it? Is he unhappy, as some posters are claiming or is it all a load of rubbish?

Don't think we would consider it unless it involved a swap deal with Matty Smith. Obviously we would have to pay a cash adjustment as well.
Realistically could only see him being released to NRL while under contract. Think the rumours are wishful thinking, even Rogues hasn't heard anything...

What could he be unhappy about though? First class rehab, England debut. Maybe he wants more £.

Would think very unlikely and would command a massive fee,il ask him on Friday lol.

A team that is serious don't sell the best players.
I think we can put the silly redvee rumour to bed on here at least. We can let the redvee keep on dreaming.

I don't think we've establised that. We are making an assumption that's the case, and it's probably a reasonable assumption.

It's a bit like saying someone's signed when we've heard from an unofficial source that someone's signed. It would be more accurate for someone to say that they've heard someone has signed.

Hang on a minute, I’ve definitely read rumours on here of him being unhappy, at some point during last season. Both him, Patton and Savelio, something to do with training ground arguments.

So wouldn’t be completely surprised if it’s true. Hope it’s not though, he’d be a big big loss.

But then again, who was happy last season!?

But it's a new season and a new coaching team, so any beef they may have had last season is irrelevant. If any one of those players was to leave because of being unhappy, it would have all been sorted prior to the new regime coming in, which is exactly what Savellio did. Plus he was only on a 1 year deal anyway and got an offer from the NRL.

We've also had our clear out now, we got that done early. I wouldn't expect any more player departures.

The other 2 you mention are still very much here. So I think that rumor, if it did have any legs a few months back due to players being unhappy, is well and truly dead.
