I understood that the Discipinary Committee meet this Thursday, 9th Feb, but that any suspensions will not come into effect until the following weekend.

He allegedly used a term that was originally common and none derogatory to describe cerebral palsy. In the 1980s usage changed and is now pejorative. It was prefixed with the f-bomb gerund and the second person pronoun.

I guess that he made the alleged remark was to a Leigh player as a form of "Sledging" after Currie scored?

Very poor from McGuire if the allegation is true and he deserves to be punished.

I’m not for one minute condoning use of that word, but it was a mistake in the heat of the moment. I haven’t seen the most dangerous tackles get that sort of punishment, and that is a far more serious problem surely? I would expect a fine and some community work along with a public apology. And I say this as a father of a child with special needs. 8 matches is madness.
