I was surprised by the scoreline on thursday night. I felt it was set up to be a close game and that Leigh had a good chance of beating Wigan at home. I haven’t been impressed much by Wigan so far but they moved up a gear i thought. Possibly because of a reshuffle and Cust not playing who has been dreadful. I agree that their main threat comes from Field & French. And everybody says ‘take them out of the team and they’re nothing’. But the fact is they are in the team (ok Field is injured now) and i expect them to possibly beat Saints next friday. It’s clear we are possibly in a 3 horse race already.
I’m hoping we still have an edge of Saints & Wigan in that our forwards have been more dominant and our attack has been far superior to theirs..

I thought it would be much closer Acouple of things influenced the outcome, first some amazing bits of luck especially benefitting French. Second Hardaker had an absolute “mare” at fullback. Not the whole story but very significant.
I wonder which Yorkshire team Hardaker is angling for now?
