rebellion against new regime? : Sat Mar 14, 2009 5:49 pm
I believe that Tony Smith has brought more professionalism into the club this week. So i am told the players are now almost putting in a full day stint. They have been asked to come in earlier, spend more time training and then are sitting through a couple of hours of videos.

Could the simply awful performance at harelequins be a reaction to this. are they disgrutled about the new, tougher regime. I think that the result highlights one thing and one thing only and that is that we need to sack a few of the players and now. For me today's performance (and i didn't go, listened on merseyside throughout and the scoreline speaks for itself anyway) highlights the reality that player power rules at our club.

For me its time to start the player sacrifice now.

If they don't like the fact that they now have to work for their wages, they should all just love off.

How can I miss you, if you won't go away????

I can well imagine that in the not too distant future, Tony Smith will sit down with Simon Moran and tell him that unless he makes some major investment in the playing squad, then the club is in for a difficult few years.

I have been a long term supporter of the view that this squad isn't quite the team of under-acheiving superstars that the likes of Eddie Hemmings would lead us to believe.

Tony Smith has a very difficult job on his hands....probably the hardest he will ever face, because this is going to be a 'from scratch' operation.

I just struggle to believe that 2 and a half years is enough time for him to do what is actually needed....The problems that infest our club did not happen overnight, and unfortunately, they won't disappear overnight either.

I saw today's result and had to look twice. It appears that you have a club in some strife and I hope that Tony Smith & Jommy Lowes can sort it out for you guys. Don't know what you have coming through the reserve grade but is it an option to drop the non performers and go with youth who have the passion & desire for the Wire. That's what happened with Leeds when we were ced to throw Burrow, McGuire, Diskin in at the deep end and it took time but we're now reaping the rewards

No, they don't. Most of the so called stars have already won things and are not hungry anymore. The others just want a nice payday. It has become a retirement home for people to earn nice money at the end of their careers. At least Reardon had the honesty to say he left Bradford for us for a better wage deal instead of claiming it was to win things.

Well if he had have said that, the men in white coats would have carted him off. Actually, maybe they have anyway. Where is he?
