Well, I'll quite happily stick my head above the parapet and say (with a due sense of impending ridicule) that I'd be rather pleased to see this happen. Oh lord, there - I've said it.

Brown is, probably along with Williams, one of the few half-backs who still possesses the hands and brains to anticipate a gap and the ability to exploit it.

Gidley @ 1, Brown @ 6, Patton @ 7, Ratchford @ 3 does it for me.

On his day I agree, but it doesn't happen often enough, certainly not often enough to justify the bill. I have a feeling we are going to be in for another one of those seasons with six different half-back combinations. Before we know it, it'll be September again and nobody will have the foggiest who should be playing where.
