That's really dissapointing, gutted for him. I hope he keeps his head up and doesn't try to rush back before he is ready. I'd rather have him fully fit for later in the season than in and out with injuries.

A real shame, the lad had settled in well and looked very dangerous.

However, the fact that an injury to a young player, who was a relative unknown a few months back and has played just a few SL matches, is such a blow tells you everything you need to know about the performance levels of the "stars" of the team.

Disagree, he performed exceptionally and that is not “relatively “. I’m not saying he is the finished article, but purely reflecting on his performances.

I was talking about the comparison between the “stars” and the “relative unknown “ telling us all we need to know about the “stars”. My point being that MA performed very well in the games he played and it is a slight on his performances to say otherwise.

This is really worrying, especially as its a hamstring injury. It's the worst thing for a player with pace. Michael Owen was never as quick again after he tore his hamstring a couple of times early in his career.

Also I can't remember exactly what injuries Kevin Penny had, but I am sure he was never as quick after about 2009.

Fingers crossed for a full recovery as Ashton looks like a rare diamond.

Hope he gets back to where he was in a short a time as possible. He's been terrific in the P&B.

What rotten news. However, we keep hearing about the excellent facilities and backroom staff at the club so one can only hope that he is given the best care and looked after properly and comes back in tip top shape later this season to help us stave off relegation
