No, he is. Philbin is a decent bench prop who’ll come on and run it in at speed a few times. However, he has only made 100+ metres twice (out of 18 games) whereas Thompson has done so 9 times out of 15 games. Thompson is a world class prop who does big minutes and makes big metres, always landing on his front and playing the ball quickly. He’s also younger than Philbin yet has a grand final win to his name and has been in the dream team as well as the World XIII. What’s Philbin done? I don’t see Philbin anywhere near the main England setup either. I’m not trying to wind anyone up, all the facts suggest that Thompson is a much better player who will go on to have a far greater career.

Back to the game in general as there's bigger issues to discuss than Thompson <> Philbin having been dragged slightly off course by our Saints siren, this is a BIG Game IMO and a crowd of circa 5,000 plus on last week's attendance would suggest that others think the same.

We need to put in a performance and grab a win especially after Tony Smith's latest charges have helped our top two aspirations. If we don't win then we need to match Saints across the park and push them to the brink another walloping like the away game simply won't be acceptable

Let's put a marker down and get some kind of form going NTW!!

I can't see anything but a saints win unfortunately but obviously I hope we do beat them. Even if that serves for nothing more than giving AS108 (hole) a week off.
