Congratulations : Sat Aug 24, 2019 9:02 pm
Thought your boys were outstanding today. Carried out Price's ultra basic game plan brilliantly. It was one of those performances where Price would have been made up had you lost, as they worked their backsides off for each other and left nothing out there. I think Parton was by far the Mom, bossed you about the park and his kicking game was outstanding.

As for us it's hard to shake the bottlers tag now. I think we're still a better team than any in SL and in a FPTP system would win the league. But our inability to perform in big games has to be a mental thing. We had plenty of position and possession and made so many unforced errors and missed plenty of chances, despite our attack being so wayward. In hindsight playing Coote was a mistake, but he was fit so had to play really.

Ref was fine bar not sending the Knowles try upstairs. Inexcusable really given the technology is there and I think the game may well have been reversed if that's sent upstairs. You would have had to be more expansive and would have struggled with Austin out.

Enjoy your win and hopefully see you for round 2 at OT, if we don't bottle both home semi finals that is.

It was. Ultra basic doesn't mean it's not well thought out and superbly executed. It was essentially five drives and a bomb and it worked perfectly. It was a win for Price over Holbrook today, no question.

It was there to see...completely smashed in the forwards in every department. You ran with 3 forwards and players not 100%. I’ve said do many times...Wembley with it’s faster pitch will find out anyone not fit.
Wire had 4/5 big men at least on the pitch at any one time and probably 7 forwards at any time.

Well done Sad one. A professional till the end.

It was a blatant Saints try and should have been given as such, but to suggest it would have had a baring on the result is crazy.

Saints have a big problem, MASSIVE. Everyone knows it. They can’t put big games to bed. This isn’t just a last couple of years thing, this goes back a long way.

But, today isn’t about that. Today is about a magnificent Wire performance, against all odds, against all the expectations of the majority of their fanbase. That was epic Wire, huge congratulations to everybody.

Wire stepped up a gear today, Saints couldn’t get near it

We were hardly smashed in the forwards, it's easy to make those statements when you win a game. We had more than enough field position to score enough to win the game. It was a tight, even game that you edged through respecting the ball and completing your sets while we just panicked and turned the ball over constantly. We made 17 handling errors today and probably ten of those were dropped cold with no pressure on the player at all.

If anything it was your kicking game that gave you more of an advantage than having one extra forward. Patton was sensational today.

This is why NO-ONE likes saints. They can't lose well and they can't win well. They were dry bummed today yet they think they can beat Australia. Laughable. Best Wembley ever. They lost to a team with Hughes and Patton as half backs. Regan Grace... Ho ho bloody ho. World's best front three got their arses handed to em.

I congratulated you and said you were brilliant? Most wouldn't have turned back up until we beat you next time. When have I ever said we're unbeatable? I'm not one of the fans who crow about how we're going to do this and that or gloat when we do win.

Think you all owe Dec Patton a pint at the homecoming.

It was Patton and Currie in the halves.
