This rocky patch : Fri Aug 09, 2019 12:53 am
The last two months we have gone backwards at an alarming rate, we seem to be ill disciplined, lack creativity and struggling to make yardage downfield. Other than the semi final performance at Bolton we seem to be in the wildernesses as a team, lacking leadership, over dependence on certain players causing fatigue/injuries and void of ideas in attack at times. Along with struggling to match the oppositions motivation and enthusiasm, especially in league games against the likes of Salford & HKR, which we should be winning. All in all, it’s been a very rock patch of late. All of this adversity we are going though with the lack of form and current injury plight does certainly make you wonder if the team has this ‘resilience’ that Price bangs on about so much. This will be Price’s third final in a row coming up which is impressive, but to be the bridesmaids for the third time again in a final under Price, would be a very bitter pill to swallow. Even more so against our fierce local rivals down the road.
Arguably, the next couple of weeks is Pricey’s biggest and most important of his tenure as head coach. It’s about getting the job done now, regardless of how we play it is a results business and our season for me rides on the next two results as they are must win games. However, if we lose both games and then lose our grip on second place & slip down the play off positions, questions will need to be asked... especially given the good start we had & the usual early season optimism.
