We were crying about Hicks in last years GF.
Saints beat us this season due to a pathetic forward pass call.

You win some, you lose some. Hicks is the only referee who seems to be able to control players.

As for the Knowles try, if it was sent up at a 'no try' it wouldn't have been overturned. If he did get it down, it was fingertips. Yes it should have been sent upstairs but the result would have been the same.

Dispite the bbc taking the heavy saints bias yesterday in my opinion. Even jonathan davies was criticising the refereeing standards throughout the whole game

We've had the rough end of a poor decision that's cost us silverware. It's 18-4 in the record books, that's all that's relevant, and our names on the cup with 2019 against it.

On the train coming home today I was sat near two Saints fans and between them they mentioned 14 times that it would have been a different game if that Knowles try had been given! (And yes I counted!) Now I’m a gentle giant kind of guy and a Widnes fan to boot but eventually I suggested to them if they didn’t want a cheap shot across the jaw like the one Toby King got late on in the game that went unpunished they should shut the...... up!! Fortunately it worked! Talk about bitter!!

Just had a great text from a friend of mine saying that Saints fans are now claiming that Cootes conversion went right between the sticks and the scandalous almost cheating linesman not allowing it have cost them the game! In that heat and those conditions to be within one score it would’ve been a completely different game!!
