Now that Livett will be on loan at Hull KR next year & with his contract expiring at the end of next season it will likely to be the last we will see of Livett in a Wire shirt.

I wonder if the same will be said of Patton? Lots of rumours flying around at the moment as to whether he is going to Rugby Union or that he has in fact been released from his contract to explore other avenues..

If Patton does go, would it be worth signing a back up half back or go with Riley Dean.

And we do seem light in the pack now with the exit of Westwood, Tasi, Moran and now Livett.

Livett has a clause in his contract for 2021 if he impresses we can activate it, we're not 100% on just letting him go yet, but if he excels at HULL KR he might not want to play for us?
I can't see us letting Patton go it would be a stupid decision to let him go next season.
Gonna be a long wait for a decent prop i think, Karl Fitzpatricks comments annoyed me. Saying we need a Prop OR maybe a Prop/Back rower. No we don't need another back rower in any circumstance at all. What a bizzare comment, we need an out and out Prop. A big solid unit, i'd love Russell Packer but i don't think he'd get a Visa with his criminal record. I think we'll end up with a prop Like James Gavet or that Leilani Latu that was mentioned awhile ago rather than a fully established Prop with a lot of games. Have a really bad feeling it'll be another disappointment or a gamble signing of a prop like the last 4-5 years

If Livett has left I think we need a back row replacement. Doesn’t need to be a top drawer player, possibly a youngster with promise (hopefully from our U19’s!).

If Patton goes I think we need to replace him, bit early for Dean yet I think. Hopefully he’s ready to pick up from Patton in 2021 after a year in the reserves.

I cannot emphasise enough the need for an out and out prop, at least one and a quality one at that - a Morley esque signing, we need a pack leader. Surely the club can see that?

If Patton has any ounce of ambition he'd be looking at clubs where he han be first choice half back.

As it happens the lad is thicker than 2 short planks so i expect he'd be quite happy to plod along in the reserves, which is probably about his level.

The type of clubs where he would be first choice halfback would not give him the chance to play at Wembley or win a Challenge Cup, and he will likely get game time behind Austin and Widdop given their injury records.

Also before Brown's injury meant Patton was back in as first choice 7, wasn't the plan to get him more involved as cover at hooker. Burrow and Robbie Paul extended their careers by developing that.

That was before we signed Danny walker though. I don't mind patton but if we need cap space to sign a big prop or 2 and it suits both parties I'd shake his hand and genyinely wish him all the best. I really hope he does have a career in rugby somewhere. He had a huge opportunity with us this year and for me he didn't really take it.

For half back cover we have Riley Dean and ratchford and now we have Ashton to cover fullback, ratchford in the halves is a more viable option. I appreciate Riley Dean is a very raw talent but he should improve playing reserve grade and I think he will need a few first team games to develop.
