Fury's CV isn't full at he jumped up in levels to fight Klitschko when no-one fancied him and then had a mental breakdown.

Pretty sure if he fought in 2016 and 2017 he'd have ticked off plenty of top 10's.

In the Ring's current top 10 Joshua has beaten four of them, to his credit (as well as Klitschko).

Both great fighters but might have to wait a while for that fight to happen.

For sure it’s a great period for British heavyweights...when within decades, we when there was only Bruno till Lewis who didn’t really come across as one for the British.

Talking about loyalty to British boxing...as I was writing it about Lewis....I was also thinking about Bugner.

Is Bugner still the Australian champion or is that honour held by a kangaroo these days ?

The 60s boxers mentioned earlier were unfortunate to come up against Clay/Ali who started a golden age for American boxers.

Let's not forget the great Don Cockle who fought for the title in the 1950s... that one isn't for the faint hearted, poor Don!

4 of the best British pub brawlers we've had, Cooper was a good boxer but apart from a lucky punch against Cassius Clay was never gonna hit the heights away from these shores anyway, Bugner very technical and very difficult to hit and even more difficult to put down, unfortunately no heart.
