Indeed, on both points. It still remains a point of frustration that we cannot recruit a good standard prop, when we've clearly needed one (if not two) for a couple of seasons or more. I'm not suggesting that we should have made an effort (although we could have done, who knows) to sign Graham, as I agree with you that he was always heading back to Saints.

I don't know if it was just my disappointment of the season that skewed my opinion but I didn't think he looked like a total world beater and he only played 2 games (?) and middle 8s, so 4 matches against championship sides and the other 3 against teams struggling at the bottom of superleague. Even if he tore up trees more serious questions needed to be asked of him for him to gain the reputation he has in some quarters around here.

If he will come for gelling money then great I'd still have him, king would be a good option for second row and covering centre. Our priority IMO remains in signing a top quality prop.

Yeah i think how good Hiku was, was blown out of proportion seeing who we played against, but theres no doubt he was a good centre.
Yeah prop has been a weak point for us for a long time now, I'm willing to give Latu a chance no matter how much i say i don't think he's the right signing. A new lifestyle and different style of competition could be the making of him. Seeing as he's lost weight from when he arrived and has clearly been working on his fitness i'll give him a chance.
If and that's IF we have actually signed Rob Butler that for me is a very positive signing. I know he only had 1 year in super league but he was very impressive and took the ball up hard and tackled hard and he's still only 23-24 years old.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Prop is undoubtedly the burning issue, but since we needed one who of our competitors has managed to sign a decent prop? There just doesn’t seem to have been any available!

Hiku made Matty Russell look like a decent winger. That tells you all you need to know about the ability of the bloke.

I agree Moe.

As to his departure, my memory might be playing tricks, I'd have preferred it if he had stayed the course and I was disappointed to see him leave but don't think he left under a cloud like he'd come to us on big money, promising this, that and the other before engineering a move away and completely dropping us in it.

The trend seems to be for a loose forward / prop rather than a loose forward / stand off so, if Price is looking for someone to play at 13, that's probably the question that he'd be asking (and in Sutcliffe's case that's a no).

We’ve 2 props of merit at Wire, we’ve some great strength along the rest of the team, that helps, but if we want to be a championship team and be able to back it up and win doubles, we need more than 2 props....which of whom are both coming to the end of their career as SL players over 30.
