Looking on the bright side (my Harvey's Bristol Cream next day delivery arrived just as I was cracking under another Wells pearl of wisdom), hopefully Mamo will be back, Ashton returns from his exile in Conwy or wherever he is and with Thewlis looking good the Charnley injury is manageable.

J Clarkes injury should open the door to Robson or Doro and I'd really like to see Widdop and Ratchford switched. But we won't, so never mind.

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

Long is an odd one. As he grows older he begins to increasingly resemble, and sound like, an incestuous accident.

I could have sworn there were several occasions when Long appeared to be messing with his own genitalia, too.

I was hoping for a convincing performance that would make Saints and Wigan worry.
I have never seen a team be so dominant without exerting pressure or putting on points. We have an uncanny ability to let teams off the hook just before they cave in.
The saints v Wigan game is like a state of origin match. I am not sure our offloading and freestyle game would win us a grand final.

Long has to be the worst analyst. Yanowwarramean.

Thewlis showed great composure with the run along the touchline, and waiting and then waiting some more for Golding to commit before passing inside. One very, very good try finished by Clark.

Agreed, of all of the youngsters that we have played this season thewlis is the one who fits most seamlessly in to the first team. He's a real talent, showed great timing and awareness there and also does the same in defence.

As we showed there we are capable of some really good rugby with clever support play but continue to play within our shell. I just want to see us get out there ant try to win this competition rather than trying not to lose.

I'm wondering if Long had just been watching Ivor Biggun on YouTube, just before he went on screen

Bmm was lucky to escape 10 in bin for his needless hit on seizer...but seizer gets 10 for kicking a ball into the stand...refereeing at times is appalling
