Agree in Hindsight because of the bench on the day, but it wasn't Tony Smith than cannonballed ratchford was it?

He had a choice of a fit Brett Hodgson or ratchford. The tackle is irrelevant.

Hodgson was great for us but I don't recall being too stressed out that Smith stuck with Ratchford he'd been in fine form.

Want it a just fit again Brett Hodgson though and an in form (as usual) stef Ratchford? Apologies if that's not how it was, that's just how I rember it.

We lost that final because of a lack of subs in the end. The cannonball was the moment that I realised we were done for. Of all the finals we have been in that was the one we should have won and was the most gutting IMO. Especially when Bert was left out but you can't reckon for those things when picking a side for the game. In hindsight he should have been on the bench or starting but Tony got a lot more right than he got wrong so I forgive him. If Joel and ratch weren't injured in the game I believe we would have won it.

Neither glass half full or empty. Just a realist.

Opinions, opinions.
We were butchered the moment Wigan scored their first try. I've said many times before, we were "rabbits in the headlights" from that moment on. Wigan were, and are, battle hardened. The injuries were a fact of life.

Anyway, back on track. Hope it goes well for the fella (obviously not against us, though). He came across as a decent bloke. Unfortunately for him, Hull seem to have as much of a scattergun approach to signings as we do.

If TS had played a semi-fit Hodgson ahead of an in-form Ratchford in that GF people would still be going on about it now. "TS preferring his ageing Aussie mates cost us the game" etc.

Look at all the moaning when Price played Ashton ahead of Ratchford in the semi against Salford.
