Henderson left London as coach to join us as assistant. The higher ups must have liked what they saw to appoint him. He may have continued to do all the right things, hoping that despite results the bosses still liked what they saw come Price’s inevitable moving on. He wouldn’t be the first assistant that has stayed on longer than healthy because of hints/hopes/loyalty (this doesn’t just apply to managing sports teams).
