Fantastically talented player that - at times - carried Warrington singlehandedly.
I think in general we almost 'got used' to his excellence and often took it for granted.
Only when it's gone do you fully realize.
His 'party boy' image as a youngster - and all the things he allegedly got up to - certainly hampered his career early and probably stayed with him for longer than it warranted, but the turnaround under Tony Smith showed what he was capable of.
It's the right thing for him to leave now if he wants a long term coaching career.
Stepping outside his comfort zone could do more to develop him than could ever be achieved by staying at Warrington.
