Betts needs time,
Perhaps he'll play some of the wonderkids from the U16's - U21's that we have heard so much about during the franchise announcements and they will be ok

Must be hard being a coach when the brief is - don't spend any money, we don't need it now but we will do next year.

I dont think the squad they have are on peanuts, certainly more spent than on our lads.
Difference is TOC doesn't know what he is doing when signing Betts' players for him.

Well mate thats why I think franchising is daft.

Have you finally realised ? Oh and should we win this seasons Grand Final where would you expect C Hill to be next season ?

It is not just me it is a fact Championship fans are so anti you need to come back home as does Skooter Nik.

Joe players talk amongst themselves about Money and believe me or not the two big payers in this div are Widnes and Barrow

A number of the Widnes players will certainly be on big money. Former SL regulars like Gardner and Heckenberg will not come cheap, and guys like Thackeray and Ropati (who, incidentally, is robbing a living on the basis of his family name) will also command big wage packets.
To be quite honest though, I'm seriously concerned about their prospects for the rest of this season, as the side we faced today looked seriously dispirited and demoralised, and showed no character whatsoever. I'd say that around 90% of the side that took the field at our place today have already been given the nod that they won't be given contracts for next season, and subsequently they'll be mentally going through the motions and picking up guaranteed money for the rest of 2011.
We actually had the weakest team that I've seen us field in several seasons today (thanks to injuries), and we still wiped the floor with an experienced Widnes side. That in itself should say something about the spirit in the Widnes ranks at the moment.

Became very dispirited twice at ours too, Jim. Like at Batley, they built a healthy lead twice, but once Leigh came back, it was always a matter of how big the hiding would be.

Bergerac has hit the nail on the head as no team spirit.They have a bad attitude and most don't deserve to wear the shirt.I have a season ticket but won't go a game this season now.Don't deserve any support the fraudsters.
