Seems that the proof was in the pudding

Reynolds is still a key member of the squad and every team needs backup in all positions. Lachy is the player that everybody wanted all season and Joe Mellor has been a crucial play maker.

Reynolds has improved this year, and at the end of the day Lammy picks the team not Chessy. Reynolds is already contracted for next season anyway.

I never said did say Chester picks the team , but with him being the director of rugby I assumed he directed rugby league matters. My point was ,he looked at our weakness and acted upon it. He may very well have a contract next year but as I’m sure you are aware , contracts are not worth the paper they are written on.

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

Ben is and will be a Leyther next season. And I for one am very happy with that.
He will play a vital part in our season, (regardless of next weeks result).
I really rate Lachlan Lam but I also rate Ben. He can and will step into 7, 6, 9, 1 and 13 with effect when needed. Every aspect of his game has improved this season and he was in the 17 today for a reason.

To say he will have a vital part in our season is a very bold statement, but that’s your opinion , it’s just that mine is different.

To me, a forum is all about differing opinions, respectfully stated.
Presuming we make SL, we need quality cover in every position, especially halfback. Ben will not let us down ball in hand and in defence whether he is the diver or the first choice.

Exactly that , you see something in Reynolds that I don’t see. As I’ve said on this thread, I’ve never doubted Bens commitment or effort . Who ever wears the shirt I will support as I have done for 40 years, but my original point was i felt the writing may of been on the wall for Reynolds as Chester clearly didn’t rate him. The fact they brought a half back in to replace him when we was cantering the league proves my point .

I for one think Bens better than Lam so far
Lam runs sideways a lot Bens has started to take the line on this season and made lots of try’s
They coaches must rate him as it’s unusual for a 6/7 to get a bench spot these days

Lam is head and shoulders above Ben, would have thought that’s pretty clear to see

They are trying Ben at both 9 and 13, if it works he will be vital cover across about 4 positions next season
