The Leigh Leopards Website is now functional (https://leighleopards.co.uk/). The last post on the old website was the Grand Final game against Batley, so that would make it absence of 8 or 9 months.
In my opinion it was not worth the wait, and we now have something really clunky with no content. The most annoying thing is the Leopard leaping to scratch your eyes out every time you open the website. Surely once was enough, and who wants an extra click just to get to the main screen.
On the main page the scrolling banner is epilepsy inducing with the speed it moves, scrolling the same 3 pieces of information about upcoming matches. Occupying half the screen there is Next Match (Buy A Ticket), Match Report and lastly League Table. Ideally with a club website you want fresh information on a daily basis, only once a week will you want to buy a ticket (many of you are season ticket holders - so only away games of interest). Match report maybe of interest once, or after the Wigan game not at all. The League table is amateurish showing only 10 teams. Was it so hard to fit an extra 2 team onto a table?
"News" is a button so small that I have to put my glasses to find it. The icons are so large that they can only fit 12 items of news per page, which at the moment is fine because they have only managed to write 10. The content is shoddy and childlike, take for example "Lach-ed In Til 2025" the size is different from the other articles and the use of 1 line and then double line
makes
it
very
hard
to
read.
Yet again Leigh have opted to hide most content behind a paywall - Leopards TV. Having seen the limited posting on YouTube, it hardly seems worth the money, besides Leigh should be trying to expand the fan base not maximise the revenue of a few hundred quid.
If Leigh want to increase Revenue streams, then the logical place is the online store. Buying merch from the market always seemed a little un-professional. The range of merchandise needs to be increased, I have heard of people making their own flags and Leopards stickers for the car trip to Wembley. Honestly this is just not good enough. Ellgren have proved to be unable the quantity of shirts and clothing for club with a reasonably small fanbase.
Mid-term scores for the website D-, must do better.

Yes, I love the club, the team is fantastic, the coach is brilliant and our owner - daft as a brush as he is I wouldn't change for the world - I am absolutely chuffed for given what has happened so far this season but, but, but...........the long, too long awaited website is well....crap.
Whilst I love a bit of irony I fail to detect any hint of it in the truly atrocious team player profiles.
If you want a laugh..... and I did up to the point of crying in embarrassment, can be found in many of the player profiles but, as an example, lets just consider the write-up for young Jacob Gannon.
I was looking..... stupidly, obviously.... for some genuine information on young Jacob. How old is he, how tall is he, what's his weight, where was he born, who has he played for, who are his famous relatives. You know, that kind of stuff, the stuff that Mike Latham would once produce in his sleep but which were proper write-ups and which you could gain some genuine information from.
Anyway, imagine my amazement at reading that Jacob is ' a Towering Presence Dominating the Leigh Leopards Forward Pack...' - the capital letters are not mine but by god their use make him look huge.... sorry Huge!
Well knock me down. There I was thinking I haven't seen anything of the young man at all this season when in fact he has been a key component of our pack all along.
Back to the profile....the writer obviously has swallowed whole a thesaurus and dictionary at the same sitting because Jacob is everything beginning with an 'un'. He is unrelenting, he is unyielding, he is unwavering - crikey!
Jacob has unyielding determination, unrelenting pursuit of excellence, unyielding physicality, unwavering commitment - apparently.
For those of us like me who have been going to our games all season but who have singularly failed to notice young Gannon's presence on the pitch, let us not forget that really he '.... dominates the Leigh Leopards forwards pack with his towering presence leaving opponents in awe of his physical prowess...' wow!
What utter tripe. How embarrassing.
There are any number of us on this website who could have done better and that is why it is embarrassing. Most twelve year olds could have done better.
So much right about the club but not rubbish like this. Come on, someone at the club get a grip.
Good spot Jack. I think the Player profiles are generated by ChatGPT but the input criteria was done by a moron. Zak Hardaker seems to have customised version which looks like this -
"Zak Hardaker, wearing the number 01 jersey for the Leigh Leopards, is a remarkable player to watch. Born on October 17, 1991, in Pontefract, Zak is a versatile and dynamic athlete who thrives as a Fullback and Three-quarter.
He joined the team in the 2023 season, making a move from the Leeds Rhinos.
Zak’s senior debut dates back to 2010, showcasing his extensive experience in the sport. His exceptional skills and dedication have earned him representative honors, proudly representing his country, England.
Supported by the sponsorship of Simply Green Turfing, Zak brings a high level of professionalism and commitment to the game. His presence on the field is electrifying, utilizing his speed, agility, and exceptional game sense to make a significant impact.
With Zak as a key member of the team, the Leigh Leopards can expect a player who possesses not only a wealth of talent but also a strong work ethic. As he dons the Leigh Leopards jersey 01, Zak’s aim is to contribute to the team’s success and elevate their performance to new heights."
Does that sound like it was written by a human, and even worse it is in BOLD and CAPITALS?

Sadly true "you are unauthorised to watch tv" Think the website was designed by the same juvenile that did the kit.Not to have town crest on the shirt is a disgrace. The membership section also has an incorrect statement that members/st holders will receive priority treatment. We knew given track record this would not happen and they would be lumped in with the oiks that invaded the pitch at wire. Shutters three parts down at the market stall with a minder present and little product on offer shows we have a long way to go off pitch
Quick question, perhaps better aimed at the club but someone on here may know the answer. Bongser never cancelled his LCTV subscription during the "down" days. There was the option to, by emailing a named party, but B&B was happy to give his support to the club as they reconfigured the website. Were all subscriptions to the old site automatically cancelled, or are Bongser and others still coughing up into the coffers?
Another quickie: Is there anything behind the paywall that is worth a renewal?
