I'll probably get shot for this, but here goes anyway...
I was in the west stand yesterday because I had my little ones with me. I normally go in the north. Anyway, before the match the north was bouncing and obviously after the match too. There were times, though, throughout the match that the north was just too silent. Key points in second half when I felt the team needed "the roar" it just wasn't there. I kept looking accross to you guys in the north and just saw a mass' (and I mean MASS because, when full, the north stand is really impressive looking at it from every other part of the ground) of bodies but no sound.
I
try to sing when I'm not in the north but my kids tell me to shut up (lol) and there is very little singing anywhere else in the ground, anyway, as we all know. There is no shortage of shouting and encouragement from all around the ground, but the passionate singing comes from the north.
I guess what I am trying to say is that, the north stand is awesome visually and when it sings it's really something else and makes me, in particular, very proud. The players obviously respond to it too - but, yesterday, the very average (in numbers) following of Salford out-sang the north stand for large parts. And that needs to change.
OK, Leythers, load your guns and I'll try and dodge the onslaught.
