You would say that, you deservedly won.

From a Leigh perspective, we were outplayed and outperformed. A brain fart at 6-0 gave you the equalising points, a stupid obstruction when the ball was comfortably covered was awful discipline.
Our attacking line was too flat, there was no impetus making us easy to tackle and our kicking game was awful. Add to that a shed load of individual errors and we were lucky to get close at the end. The star performers were all in Fev shirts.

An finally, I don’t like watching from a seat, there are too many people going for pint, a pie and a pee.

When you get to my age, you'll be glad of a seat, reffy!

I fully endorse your view of today's match. We had clung in there, but once Riddy had temporarily forgotten he had moved to Leigh (with that pass to Chisholm) there was only going to be one winner.

It was nice to see Ben Reynolds having a good game. I still feel he may be not quite quick enough for SL, but he can certainly perform at this level.

I am your age Alan. lol

Reynolds was getting some foul mouthed stuff, people have short memories. I had a chuckle when the Fev player had his shirt ripped off, a chant of “You fat nice bloke” was rather ironic given the shape of the chanter.

Re: Today : Sun Jul 07, 2019 7:48 pm
The best team won.

Dane Chisholm controlled the game superbly. Ash Goulding caused us problems all day and I thought their number 12, Brad Day was quality out wide.

For us there were plenty effort and desire on show without any real end product. We looked a tired and flat side. This ridiculously silly run of away games is catching up on us. Ridyard for one had an off game and all Featherstone tries came on his side. Defensively we need to shore up there. We also need to mix the halves up as I am beginning to suspect young Ridyard's time is catching up with him ( It happens to us all) and Josh Woods is carrying a lot of responsibility on his very young shoulders in to big games, despite him having a hand in at least half our tries,

Again I am not sure of the solution but I don't think it begins with Ryan and ends in Brierley either.

I thought we could have won the game.In the last 20mtrs we looked much more likely to score than fev did especially in the first half. Chisholm was hopeless on the last plays in the first half easily defended
We gave 2 tries away with the interception and obstruction.Hood went clear through with no one within shouting distance backing up
We didnt get enough field position up hill 2nd half looked a prop forward short to get us in range when we did we kicked rather than pass

How their no. 12 Brad Day was not M.O.M. I do not know!! At one stage of the 2nd half we ripped the shirt off his back and still could not stop him!! As for people saying this was a bad loss, don’t forget this was a tough away game against a top 5 rival, and we only lost by 4 points. I hereby predict we will win the next 6 matches against Batley, Swinton, Widnes and York at home and Rochdale and Barrow away. That will get us very close to 2nd.

CL, I agree, we won’t lose again until the last game of the season, and even then we may win, today we lost by 4points, that interception try made the difference , if it had gone to hand we scored, it didn’t though.
Fev are a top team, very tough ,maybe we didn’t play well but we weren’t that far off,is Ryan B the answer?Maybe yeah, would he have been on the end of Hoods break?Maybe yeah,if Thornileys pass to Marsh late on had gone to hand,we lost yeah , but my money is still on us getting second spot, Fev are in Toronto next week and all the other teams play each other yet.Have faith, Charlie does.

CC,

It was good to see you yesterday, flat cap included. Think I'll stop on the predictions though, but was pleasantly surprised by the result. I still think Leigh will get second place in the league. Hope to see you a your place during the play-offs.

Dave, you know I take nothing for granted, even yer predictions, lol,I enjoyed the game yesterday even though we lost, Ive no complaints, I think most Leigh would agree there.Hopefully we will meet again this season, I look forward to it, was good to see both you and Jon,proving what most know ,how good Fev fans are.
Good luck for the rest of the season, but not to much.lolI will be watching your game at Toronto if it is on TV, see ya soon. :thumb: The flat cap didn’t bring me any luck.lol.
