40 points to the good after 30 or so minutes, lost the next 50 mins by 18 to 10, just shows how deficient our on field generals are, Riddy is now to slow to catch a cold, Reynolds we could be generous and say he needs more game time, but I saw nothing to convince me he has improoved at all since he left, totally missed Greg at full back he could have had a hand in another 30 points given the same ball Brierley had, and Junior Sa'u no wonder a club needing players let him go, he is absolutely hopeless as a centre, don't get your hopes up guy's for the play offs we just ain't good enough.
Pathetic Harry.. Joint second with a points difference Leigh would never catch.
Well played Leigh ...
It's not just about the points difference Atomic, for seasoned professionals it was a pretty poor effort after the first 1/2 hour there was no one capable of taking that game by the scruff of the neck and commanding the structure of play. I will bet that John Duffy is more in line with my thoughts than your "Well played Leigh"

Translation, ii don’t like Ridyard, Reynolds, Brierley and Sa’u but I absolutely lurve McNally who would have won the game single handed if he had been playing.
Sounds like we took the game by “the scruff of the neck” in the first 30 minutes so who was responsible for that ? 50 points scored, a rise to clear in 3rd and a top 5 made more certain. edit: top 5 made certain All done with injuries and new players fitting into our system. This has been and still is an enjoyable and unexpected season. My hopes have already been surpassed, I will continue to enjoy.
I suppose that, after the ridiculous first 30 minutes, all our expectations were sky high, and yes, we probably should have gone on to score 80. However, the inevitable complacency set in, Rochdale somehow managed to lift their heads and went on to outscore us over the last 50 minutes, and thwart us in defence.
We are still not firing on all cylinders, but we have moved up to equal second and should finish third - if we get our next two home matches right!

So, it's not all gloom and doom, surely?
To be pedantic, the competition rules mean that you are currently 3rd not equal second.

If we come third I’d rest as many players as possible for the 2 v 3 match
It was always going to be difficult to maintain the intensity of those opening 30 mins. The game was won and the points were already in the bag. The referee then also became more whistle happy at that point which did not help our rhythm.
Did we put the cue back in the rack earlier than we should? Probably, Yes. Would Duffy be happy about that ? Probably not. Points difference could separate 2nd to 5th. Overall Would he take where we sit tonight from where he started ? For sure.
I do agree that McNally is a player you do miss when he is not in the team.
