Leigh Centurions Named As Superleagues Twelfth Side for 2021 It has been confirmed that the Leigh Centurions will replace the Toronto Wolfpack for the Superleague 2021 season after they were determined to have entered the most complete and appealing bid of the six sides who were hoping to play in the topflight next season. Without playing a ball, or making a tackle, Leigh were chosen ahead of Bradford Bulls, Featherstone Rovers, London Broncos, Toulouse Olympique and York City Knights, much to the delight of their fans, players and administrators. Coach John Duffy now has a small window during which to strengthen his side ahead of the start of the competition on the 11th March 2021, a time when hopefully there will be some spectators allowed inside stadia. always been a massive Leigh fan, but this doesn't seem the good way to get promoted , should have been left to the league table.

But someone had to fill that 12th spot,and without being biased,Leigh's were the best application after a unanimous decision by the panel.

Agreed Cokey, unfortunately after the initial euphoria, I feel a little deflated that other clubs feel we have been gifted a season in the SL. When the same thing happened to Widnes many thought it was unwarranted due to the fact that they were a mid table team, presented with a golden ticket.

Leigh must now perform on the field, and whilst I was delighted with the team as a Championship side, we need to add some real quality to be competitive in the SL. Need Monty to give some pointers as to the last 3 players, if that is the correct squad size as mentioned in the bid.

It’s a very difficult situation. Leigh built to challenge for SL, not actually be in it. Lot of work to be done now.

It is going to be difficult but hopefully with a few more additions doable, the play off system has proved championship teams can beat SL teams in one offs, and last time we proved we can raise our game and beat the top teams, what we didn’t manage is to beat those teams around us, which will be key to us having any chance of staying up. #beleighve
