Well, it would seem that the last round of regular season matches will go ahead. ERII (RIP) was a well known Coronation Street fan (like Charlie Caroli and, Diggory Compton!), perhaps she was also a big fan of the Northern code - then again it’s a long while ago that she crossed London to watch a Challenge Cup Final - even after more than three decades of concessionary rate!
As to tomorrow’s match, (squad yet to be announced as far as Bongser can see) Batley seem to have fallen out of form of late and Bongser will slap his on the table by going for a comfy win for the Leythers. Don’t expect the 52-0 of the reverse fixture, once the game is in the poke, the collective trotter will come off the gas to cotton wool the lads for the must wins coming up - the first most likely to be versus Barrow.
Half of each eye will be firmly on events in West Yorkshire. Both curiosity and mischief mean a certain completely dead rubber there is actually a must follow - and probably a dress rehearsal of a play-off semi to boot.
Sausage's law, Bongser will be at work tomorrow and unable to see the lifting of the Shield. Hope those attending enjoy the muted day. Unmute it at that point; you have all given more service to RL than the Centurions' website has credited someone else with.

Up the Comics!
As you rightly say Bonser , I’m a Corrie fan , and a fan of yerself as a Pavorotti singer , I was very impressed , as were the Thomas Burke regulars , and VL . Tomorrow’s games might be a bit muted , but I’m expecting a Leyther win , by how many , I’m not sure , I predict a score of Leigh 44 v Batley 10,I really rate the Batley full back Hooley, a very good British lad , much as I rate young Ryan Brierley , who has just scored to put Salford 22 v 0 up against Hudds ,I’d say Goodnight Shudds . Back to tomorrow , should be a good end to a great vintage season ,the likes of Fergo , Edwin ,Asiata ,and finally young Lam have been great signings , hopefully the boys then can silence the Fev , and gain SL entry .
42-4 win for me tomorrow. I expect the team to finish as they have always played. With desire, passion and a pride in defence. Pay great respect to HRH at the start and respect to our team and club at the end. The team, management and whole club deserve to be celebrated. This has been one hell of a season. Some have said we have bought the league but that for me is pure jealousy. We are certainly in a position of strength financially, thanks to DB’s dedication to our club BUT what we have done this season is buy the right players not just names. We have also shown patience in waiting for those right players to be available. Also vitally we have the right people steering recruitment, preparation and on field production. Yes, this has been one hell of a season. I fully expect the club to take the same ethos into the playoffs. Up The Comics !
Reynolds as interchange hooker, until Mellors had the last 5 minutes off.
Don't know what was up with Ferguson, hurt himself, was fine, Moore ordered him off the pitch, then we never subbed him. Then we did.
It was always going to be an odd match, two teams not wanting any injuries going into the play-offs with the only thing to play for being home advantage for Batley if they could pull out a shock win.
For a change we had a better 1st half than 2nd half.
Kai, Smith and Aekins stood out most for me today, but as per, everyone put in a stint.
3400 and a bit, felt busier in the stands near me though.
Well done to the lads, and all at the club. Adrian Lam started with 7 players and the build from their was measured and patient. The team spirit and dedication is clear to see. When players know they are not here next year, it can be hard to keep them focused and committed but Lam and Co hav done exactly that. Enjoy the next few days, then back to work for the final chapters guys. It has been a blast so far !
Yes it’s been a great season so far. The hard work starts now with the play offs. I noticed Edwin Ipapi wasn’t in the squad. Hopefully just rested. I hope is family are safe and well at home after the earthquake. Are best wishes to everyone in PNG.
