Whilst Durbin's support play is top notch he is simply incapable of leading us around the park like Ian Watson (at 33) still can. If he's fully fit then I would hazzard a guess that's the real reason he is not playing. Durbin's most effective role (as alluded to by some) would be to come on as an impact player to run from dummy half, after Jock has worn down the opposition and tackled himself to a standstill in the process.

Point being he isn't doing that and only seemed to do it in a couple of the games in which he scored a bagful of try's.

Why isn't he, though? Is it his (Durbin's) decision, or was the coaching staff asking to pass the ball, after Jock had been running from dummy half? (i.e. a change of tactic) I don't know the answer, by the way - I'm asking out of interest!

Agreed he hasn't kept up the promise he showed early on in the season.

Because he hasn't had that much game time. He injured his wrist or hand which put him out of the frame. I hope either of these three scenarios are not keeping him out;
1; He has become big headed with the boys singing his name.
2; Paul is jealous that the fans like him.
3; His adulation could be upsetting the squad.
Jamie is not the messiah and some of his passing was rubbish just before he lost his spot, but the boy has pace and a blinding fake that will get us field position and points. I personally think his confidense is shot.

Disagree once again.

What would he offer to the team if he was to play in our next game vs Fax? His defence, due to his stature, is nowhere near as good as Jocks and he doesn't take the line on any more which is were he is most dangerous and his passing at times is awful.

Agreed is defence is a problem due to his size but most of thursdays team should be having a week of passing practice. How do you coach close contact fast passing? Communication. Luck or ESP. I dont think you can coach it. It's all down to the players and how they feel on the day, practice can only hone scenarios, after that a players personal skills and attitude take over.

This is what worries me about Mr Rowley he is the ego and hates anyone taking it off him "I am Mr Leigh etc etc etc""
He coaches now and picks teams on whats needed and whos on form not who is going to take the limelight off him!!! He still worries me as a coach because of his egotistical attitude!!
Jamie is a good impact player and at Batley in the first half more than prived his worth....he offers a lot more than Liability hobson who we cant seem to get 2 good stints a game out of.....
