I'd imagine if a Leyther stand any chance of winning it must Dessie, Woody, or Murph.
Wigan have had so many great players, over the last 25 years in particular that the vote may be pretty split for them. I mean, Hanley, Edwards, Bell, Lydon, Hampson, Farrell, Offiah, Gill, Gregory (Andy), to name but a few.
Bolton by birth,
Irish by blood,
LEYTHER by heart and soul!!

As a Leyther, you’re one of us the moment you come here to wear the shirt. I don't care where you were born, what colour you are, what religion you are, what language you speak. You're one of us, part of our culture, writing our history as you create your own, and making us stronger for it....
Of course, Tommy Sale would be the obvious vote but I doubt many of us will have seen him play! In that case, Woody?
C'mon then, everyone from Leigh give a vote to the mighty Woodster!!!!! How much would it hurt W!g*n council to have to acknowledge that a Leyther is the borough's best ever player!!!

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Well lets face it , Woody must be the best , how many of the above players did we ever offer for ?
was that not moore who picked someone up and headbutted them?
That was in the league game that season (on Gary Hulse if memory serves me right) rather than the 'Kegwatch Challenge'. Could write a book on Leigh-Widnes brawls in the modern era
As mentioned above, the Wigan vote might be split over several players, so circulate it amongst as many people as possible and let's get this thing won.
