| So regardless of Starbugs reasoning we HAD employed someone.
As that person has moved on why are we not employing a replacement?
The job description included stuff like getting old fans back and getting new ones in - not an impossible task is it? It sounded like a no lose situation - we employ a person to attract interest/money and the RL pay his wage  |

| I know of a very experienced person who applied for the job and wasn't even given the courtesy of an interview. He says the communication was shocking for a prospective employer. The club know who is - why don't they give him a call. |

Don't know if that's the case or not - only the Board can answer that one. But surely if the club is to move forward they should be looking to employ experienced and committed people.

Not what I was told , and fine though it would be having somebody with that directive paid for by the RFL , without a budget they will achieve nothing |

| As there was no job description in full published with the advert I presume 24.7 applied and got a full one? 'cause the bit about old fans etc certainly wasn't in the advert I saw. |

Well, there is experience, in the family. Neil's brother, Richard, was Commercial Manager, in our SL season, but didn't last long in the job. I think he found travelling from Wakefield a bit of a nightmare. |

Not many can last long in that type of position at lower league or unfashionable clubs
Even the ones at big clubs are now struggling , the number of corporate sales info sheets I'v had from premier footy clubs this year has rocketed |

I thought there wasn't enough employed for key positions at the club, and too many are spreading themselves out too thinly etc... Having someone there dedicated to a job to bring money in and paid for outside the club is surely a positive. I really don't think RFL could win with yourself even if they came up with a plan which matched your own word for word that you had pre written..... 
Budget ? What will the person need ? A filing cabinet, a phone and a PC and off he/she goes. Wages paid for, and hopefully a couple of quid added to the pot. |
