I was at that match where Joe Pydon kicked a drop goal from his own half and it was definatley at Owd Trafford and I think it was the Premiership Final and a very young Tommy Martyn bagged a few tries and won the MOM when Owdham beat Sheffield in the minor premeirship .

Ive only been to one match at Maine Road and that was Barrow against somebody on a Wednesday night .

So have a check at your facts Starbug sir , to see which one of us has got their wires crossed

Don't remember much about the game now apart from that drop goal. Deffo at Maine Road and atmosphere I do remember was excellent.

I have the 87 prem final on video, which may be one of the games mentioned on here as for the other well if someone would like to 'root through' a very large box of videos I 'rescued' from MICRON then come and feel free to do so there are all sorts of games in that.

i got a video back in 97 celebrating 100 years of the cc and it shows clips of all the televised finals from 1929 and up

Yes we know that , what I want to know is , was there a foul on John Woods just prior to that DG that resulted in a different Warrington player attempting a Penalty but missing and giving the pies possession from where Lydon kicked his goal
