Imagine if Bird had, for instance, cracked a neck vertebrae in the previous collision - what Acton did COULD have had a massive impact as he had no way of knowing the extent of birds injuries before he did what he did. If you insert the ' could ' word into RL with regards serious injury , you might as well outlaw the sport now , everybody walking onto a pitch knows he could get seriously injured , it's the ones who go onto the pitch happy to injure I worry about , and who we need to get rid of
