Trust a Yorkie not to understand. It's really quite simple:-

After 80 minutes, the scores are level. Therefore the result can't be a draw.
The team scoring first in 'extra time' wins the game, but the other team doesn't lose it - for them, it's a draw!

Dead simple, eh?

PS I'm with you - if two teams are level, the result is a draw. Ridiculous to have two results to one match - neither of which is a loss!

It would work fine if it was 3 points for a win.

I understand the concept and it keeps it exciting i suppose !

Wouldn't it be good if they trialled some of these concepts in SL, rather than the Championship?

It wouldn’t have made any difference in the finishing positions last season in Championship.
378 matches 4 draws. Not sure how many golden point games SL had. Or in what time frame they won the match.
