Pace is certainly one of the keys, quality halfbacks playing behind a winning pack is another. I think we have the halfbacks. The talk of a quality a overseas and 2 SL loaners tells me that maybe we don’t quite have the pack, yet.
Talk is cheap VL. We go with what we have. Sammut doesn’t need a winning pack.. Pace, pace and more pace. We have had grunt and did nowt for us.
We were lacking at the end of the last season maybe missing the dual reg players, choice of half backs and a bit of punch in forwards, hopefully all addressed this year. If is a fine line with forwards between power and over aggression ,Hock on a good day won the game on a bad one ended up off the field.
My predictions for the coming season are . 1.Toulouse. 2.Leigh. 3.Fev. 4.London. 5.York. 6.Widnes. 7.Bradford. 8.Sheff. 9.Dewsbury. 10.Batley. 11.Halifax. 12.Swinton. 13.Whitehaven. 14.Oldham.
We could challenge for top spot depending on the reported Oveseas signing and the 2 loan players ,we are not far away, hopefully McNally back on song , a good season from Thorniley,Higson , and Sau, I’m expecting a good season from Ince , at halves I’m happy ,hopefully Sammutt and Reynolds aided by Woods and Riddy can link the backs and forwards, again maybe a big lad short , but Mason, Spencer,Grohl,Hellewell,Hood,Ioane,Thorniley, Wildie,Addy, are not a Soft touch pack, I’m sure I’ve forgotten a couple of lads but all in all I think JD can make a positive push, can’t wait.
If it’s open to debate Charlie and if there is money available to strengthen come the time. Then ideally we should be looking at No:1 spot. Otherwise I don’t see the point in strengthening apart from forced ones.
But let’s see how the present squad go before making predictions. Leigh have the benefit of a full pre season, let’s see what happens at the AJ Bell hit out.

Totally agree Atomic, I respect everyone’s opinion, these are just my predictions, I’m not saying in any way they will be right, Leigh are not far off, and I think Fax and Oldham will struggle. I wouldn’t read much into the friendly games , for me a good start is vital ,I think we can win our first 6 games , build a bit of confidence then who knows,I’ve never been one to sit on the fence, and think Oldham lack depth , and quality in their squad , and Fax haven’t recruited well and their players are a year older than last season, which is why I predict their positions.

Morning Charlie (and all other Leyther's)
This was my prediction from a few months ago. I think Toulouse could come top but who knows. Looking forward to the season starting again but may think differently after a couple of games!

I wouldn’t write any club off so early Charlie.Fax will play their part and be selective. If Leigh haven’t gelled they will need to be selective.
I see a very tough season coming for all. Toulouse probably being selective on away games. You break that fold and it’s anyones.

Atomic, I’m not writing any Club off, but somebody has to finish at the bottom,I think Oldham, Haven, Swinton , and Fax are the teams to be there as I’ve said it’s only my opinion. It’s 3 months off Cheltenham for the Horse Racing, I’m backing Pentland Hills for the Champion Hurdle,I’m not writing the others off as Epante won’t be far away, I’m just backing Pentland Hills. If Leigh can win their first 6 games and it is possible , then owt is within reach.
