I get that Tommy, but the 20 clubs need to be FT in order for it to work and thrive. If thats not the criteria, that wont work. I feel 20 is asking too much. SL2 (as you call it) cannot be a league of PT teams. Defeats the object.
As for the fixtures, just the 18 ? or more loop da loop fixtures which turn the league season into a mockery.
The 14 Teams would be balanced with more relegated. Currently its 1:12. With 2 relegated, it would be 1:7, and enough to get most teams attention (ie) comfort zones !
Fair comment Snowy. I think to avoid the loop fixture boredom other competitions could be added again Yorkshire/ Lancashire, BBC floodlight. Less funding from SKY now opens the door to other things.
If SL complete the required amount of televised games, they will no longer be dictated by SKY. Something that has held the sport back. As said many times the saviour of the sport will become the downfall of it.
It has taken a long time for some to realise that.
SKY reducing funding has opened the game up to other broadcasters as we are seeing. That could be the way to financially support the 5 or so PT clubs forcing them to go FT.
I totally agree with what you say around PT clubs playing in SL2. But if the sport can and should generate more money in the sport then the wages should also rise to accommodate the PT players. That is then left to the players choice to continue playing or return to a lower tier.
