Well I said before the game , if we don’t win by 40 it wouldn’t be a decent result , and although I was right with the score the game wasn’t great .We seemed to be trying to hard, and missed Reynolds , it was a difficult night for Mellor.
All in all to nil Dews was a good thing , and I liked how they kept doing the short kick offs , Nene and Inu should see more of the ball though .A bonus was I met Bongser before the game , he’s a very well spoken gent , for a Bongser , even had hisForsythes bag with him .

Re: Dewsbury (H) : Fri Apr 01, 2022 9:32 pm
I actually enjoyed the game, but with all due respect to Dewsbury, it felt very much like a training game for both teams, one who felt like they should walk it and one who knew they should get hammered, but credit to the Rams that they never stopped, they just had too many loose passes (even though I felt their disallowed try was not a forward pass).

I also felt Hingano looked far more comfortable and composed in the halves than as hooker. Ipape looks to be getting there now too but I actually enjoyed the game, but with all due respect to Dewsbury, it felt very much like a training game for both teams, one who felt like they should walk it and one who knew they should get hammered, but credit to the Rams that they never stopped, they just had too many loose passes (even though I felt their disallowed try was not a forward pass). Everyone of our team was gaining yards after every collision.

Now just to sort out who's the one who's confusing our players when we score the tries.

I thought young McDonnell had a good game , ran the lines well ,scored a good try , I think he will be a good addition to the squad .

Deeeekos, albeit from a seat near halfway, the forward pass that saw their try disallowed was a non-spot from this party - it would have been a good try too even if it would've only yet again highlighted Leigh's edge getting sucked inside and leaving a massive overlap when "defending". Ipape's run before the Brand try the highlight here.

You're also right, despite the scoreline, The Rams kept plugging away all match.

Backing you up on the first bit as you said it to Bongser outside Legends - Charlie knows :thumb: . If only Kris "Nanny" Noo had nailed one more kick, Bongser's 62-10 on the Superleigh Predictor would've been within 6 margin-wise.

Joe did alright and got MoM but his kicking to the corners was ineffective.

Mind you, we caught virtually no high balls all night - that's why Jowsb'ry persistently profited from the short kicks. We'll now see a lot of teams using that against us unless it's rendered ineffectual in the next couple of matches after a lot of "jump-catch" practice in training.

Inu's still not match fit IBO, but nice to see him available on the inside to collect Nene's pass for the final (?) try. The broad grins after that speak of a burgeoning partnership.

There is no E in "Forsyth's Bag" (in any sense) just other stand-bys like hat, gloves & scarf. Wish they'd put the heating on at LSV.

Nice to see you.

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

I’m going for 36-6 win for the good guys.
Has anyone heard if Ben Reynolds will be fit and is Bell with us still ?

I don’t know who’s chips I have pi$$ed on but 5 mins into the game we had a power cut that lasted 3 hours. I tried streaming via my phone hotspot but that gave me about 30 seconds of play at a time before stalling endlessly. Ah well, first world problems and the lads racked up a good score despite not firing on all cylinders from what I saw. Nice to hear Dave Parky commentate again :D

Very impressed with the way Chamberlin and Brand are pairing up. With Macdonald taking all the plaudits, and rightfully so Chamberlins work seems to go under the Radar.
Aekins is growing every game after a shaky first game and all the forwards are putting a real shift in,
Add Ford to the mix to take some pressure off Mellor and we will have a team that will take some beating

Very nice to see ya Bongser , maybe talk more next time.I agree with the Dews try ,for me it wasn’t a forward, and Mellor kicks didn’t pose much threat to Dews , we should have scored more , I felt we were trying to score off every tackle, again I agree Inu isn’t fully fit yet , but when he is , both he and Nene will be lethal on the left side .
All in all decent match , I liked McDonnell from Wigan , and Ipape will get better as the season progresses.
Dews never gave in and I liked their short kick offs , we are looking good , get Bell back on loan , our bench looked a bit light last night , but we are top of the League till Sunday so can’t complain .

How and why did we miss Reynolds? What does he bring to the team....nothing.

Too many errors some basic like restarts to take much from game.
if full back keeps letting ball bounce will get caught out again lets hope its not in big game,
Where would Bell play our 18 is star man any money best spent elsewhere.
See we are linked with another winger just out of jail
Half back looks weakest area.
Lam thinks we have small squad.
Do we mix and match try and find best options from what we have
Entertaining to see how things develop
