Huge signing and as Jack rightly points out (beat me to it Jack), he may not necessarily play exclusively on the wing. If I recall rightly from a good few years back, he has played top grade NRL in the Centre position but I don't personally remember fullback (then again I don't remember my own name sometimes these days !).
Regardless, this guy will scare the heck out of a defense in any position and gives us the strongest backline in the Championship now.
This is a long season, and we are bound to pick up injuries, or at least need to rest players with niggles or just to let them recharge every now and then. We now have better numbers, good strength in depth and are looking really good for the second half of the season and the business end.
What I do like about the press release is Derek clearly saying that we are not just planning for promotion or bust. This is part of a long term plan to have a team ready to compete at SL when it happens (and he says it is not all poop or bust, hinging on it being this year).
Never a dull moment.

Leigh as a club should take heart that when we have signed "bad boys" in the past, they've been quite exemplary in their behaviour on and off the pitch, with the exception of refs just looking for a reason to card Gaz Hock.

Hopefully Ferguson can be used more as a utility back than merely a winger because, as others have noted, Brand is coming along a storm.

Though I do think this is just another signing that will enter into the Leigh Shop Window for Super League signings for 2023, whether we're promoted or not.

It's imperative we try to keep our best quota players for next season, (7) i believe if we get in SL. I must admit my confidence is growing, and i hope we keep improving as the season progresses. It's fair to say London were poor, so it was difficult to take much from that game. Yes we have the players but, we need testing a bit more. COYL

A no-brainer that Blake Ferguson will be 1st choice. The others will have to up their game even more. Competition for places is what we need. Plus its a squad game these days. Players get injured, need resting. Absolutely fantastic signing. Well done Leigh!

Bongser, I'm pretty sure that Big Ben is already here. He was in the stands watching tonight's game with the rest of the non-playing squad. I have mentioned this in my post on the Squads v Eagles thread.
He did the half time draw (unannounced and unidentified by the public announcer who probably cannot pronounce his name yet) and was posing for selfies with fans in the main stand.
If its him then he now has a beard
If its not him then there's another big unit of a South Sea Islander lurking around the club.
Fingers crossed he might be available for selection in the return fixture against the Eagles next Sunday

I’ve read (in the press release I believe) that Blake will be here in time for selection for the 1895 semi. Ben’s photo at a departure area was on Facebook 2 or 3 days ago.
We may seem both of them in a shirt next week.

All great news 2 great signings but we must keep building and improving to beat Featherstone who as a team have had more time together and are building on their near miss from last year. If we both keep improving should be a great contest.
