No correct scores or margins posted back in February but five points each to Chazzer, Vanners, Chayders, EVVO, Bongser & Wanderer.
Friday evening saw Sheffield hammer Widnes. 7/10 erred the other way and Chayders’ Jokermon fell at the first fence and was destroyed. Points though (five of them) to Budge, Pubbers & Vanners.
Sunday afty and by HT most chances of a correct score had gone for a burton. What’s more Leigh were trailing at home to lowly Swinny. Something approaching normal service was restored in all the games in the second 40, but two (very nearly three until The Trannies scored in the death throes at Odsal) out of six games being edged by a singleton and half the games being won by an odd margin scuppered most hopes of a correct margin.
Clean sweeps on victories for Leigh (squeaky bum style) and for York. Pubbers distinguished himself with a correct margin in the latter game.
Mr Dare to be Different was the only one to miscue on wins for The Trannies & Fev, but he should be given his due, in two very close run affairs, he was closer to the margin than most in both.
Les crapauds won at ‘Fax. Foreseen by all but Atomic & Pubbers. This time EVVO nailed the margin.
It would have been a free for all with a Batley win at ‘Dale had not Bongser accidentally switched his prediction round in favour of The Hairnets. 14 minutes after misposting that bolox, he correctly entered the same margin (but in Batley’s favour) on The Bulls’ forum. Still, his mistake and he’s big enough to take his lumps – damn it!!!
All of which means that, on his maiden appearance on Championship WPL, Budgiezilla nailed a Pokemon, an achievement that was matched by last week’s winner Vanners – apparently they do cask Brasso on tap in ‘Couver and it is doing VL’s punts the world of good. With the 5 pts from the rearranged fixture, Vanners led 140-135 from Budge as we looked at the BBQ results. Attendance was 3155. Budge was a mere five souls shy (25 points) with VL next closest (18), Atomic third (15).

deux points. You still don’t get a badge Budge, but you do get a WWB of a further 25 points for a debut total of 185 pts. Huzzay!

So some big scores this week but it’s “as you were” positionally. Bongser might have clawed one point closer to Charlie, but he’s got the sharp teeth (and foul breath) of both a shark and a ‘Couver cougar nighing sinking their respective chompers into his rearguard.
