ROUND TWENTY-SIX ROUND-UP:Getting there, ladies and gents, despite the mental torpidity caused by the last three weeks’ late shifts (at least another fortnight to follow).
Okay, Wanderer missed the first game (despite posting his preds (according to the site) two minutes before that kick-off). Sorry, Bongser does his best to play fair and send reminders but, like the Green Cross Man, he can’t always be there when you cross the road!

Clean sweep on the Tools’ match (barring the absent Donny Mon). Pubbers off to a flier with an exact score line – not for the first time this season. SIXTY-FIVE points to him, five to the other eight present.
Toronto won. Wanderer was by then present, played a Joker on that game to double his score to ten points. Five for all else in a clean sweep. Atomic very close to both margin and scoreline – a season of near misses. Alack!
Yet another unsurprising clean sweep on a ‘Fax win. Charlie was not so much closest as least far out, but well done to him anyway. Huzzay!
Onto the Bat-Fev game and that was where the wheels started to fall off. Wanderer closest on the margin – a mere 44 points out! Budge erred toward the wrong team but 5 pts to all others.
Bulls vs Eagles: eight correct on the winners but two Jokermons blown – those of EVVO & Zools.
Two correct margins in the Vikings/Lions game – Vanners & The Don, 15 to both. Five to five others but zilch to EVVO, Chuckle & Zools.
On to Leigh’s last home game of the season. All went for a Centurions win and got nothing back from the bookie. Wtf! That wasn’t in the script! Leythe seemed to have pulled the game out of the flames late on with a Forsyth try beneath the emptiness of the Eastern wilderness.
The conversion failure (just when Bongser had grudgingly started to accept Ryan again) cost Leigh the two in-game points that would have won us the match, cost two points in The Championship, cost Pubbers & Vancougar 105 WPL points, Bongser 205 and Chayders an humungous 230 points. Bongser could’a been a contender!
