First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

Agreed Charlie.
Never a dull moment in Leyth Land. (It’s like Disneyland with mud and lobby, and a roller coaster would be fine addition to the LSV to go along with our fortunes and emotions)

Its about time we announced our squad numbers.

I notice Barrow have 27 in their squad, Dewsbury 26, and Swinton 25. Announcing our squad numbers would give fans an idea of the strength and depth of the squad whilst deciding whether to invest in a season ticket.

On paper although some quality we loook lighter than last year on numbers and we ended up playing people out of position then so a lot of work to be done. Think a bit of sensible retention Hellewell, Thompson, Gee Mullen would have put s in a more stable position and given us a bit of continuity!

I don't understand this post. There are about 18-19 squad members and presumably there will be another five or so added in the next few weeks, but those ones are still either still in negotiations or waiting for visas etc.

So if they announce squad numbers for the 18 or 19 players that are already known to be signed, how is that going to give an idea of the strength and depth of the squad?

The Phantom Horseman, I am delighted to see the latest player to be announced today.
Welcome to Leigh John Asiata!
My post was reflecting on what Charlie Caroli wrote which was…….
‘I’ve got a feeling that the majority of the team are already in place , just names ready to be released ,and I think cometh the hour , cometh the man , we will be ready , have faith .'

How do you get that from my post?

Every year fans of several Championship clubs (including my own) start panicking from about September onwards about the state of their squads, despite the fact that a lot of the bigger Championship signings are announced in November, December and January.

Not every post on a rival club's forum has to be a partisan/trolling post. Leigh are clearly assembling a very strong squad and certainly look to have by some way the biggest budget, Fev should be strong again, Fax look much-improved on paper especially in the backs, and there are possibilities about the likes of York and Newcastle improving a fair bit too (amongst others). So it should be a cracking Championship season, Covid permitting.

The biggest budget doesn’t prove anything as already proved in the past. But for clubs that where in a position to progress and just simply milk it or pay debts off is the reason for not progressing. The reason the game doesn’t progress.

It’s a formula 1 scenario, 2 teams in it. If you call that a cracking season, not really worthy of a league.

The league carries two full time squads.Newcastle and Leigh. Is that acceptable?

No it’s not.

You may turn out to be right, but let's play the games first, eh? Remember the 2018 championship season, when Leigh were 1-2 favourites with the bookies to top the league?
