Analoge converts badly to digital unless you put the footage direct from camera into a dvd recorder (stand alone) then digitise the dvd in a video editor I use ULEAD VIDEOSTUDIO 11 (now owned by Corel and on ver 12)
then save it as an mpeg II file download a FLV convertor convert it to FLV then post on youtube (or in mpeg4 format if you download an mpeg4 convertor) but you do need a good video editor, windows moviemaker is ok but limited.
Sounds complicated but it isnt in practice.

Thanks Fred for that helpful advice. I have a Pinnacle Dazzle USB gadget that I can plug my analogue camcorder straight into my computer. It looks OK when I'm transferring the footage onto my PC, but the quality is poor after editing and playing back.

I didn't want to use the video mode on my digital still camera when I went to see the Tommy Sale stand demolished. I was low on battery power.

Fred. Do you think you and your Andrew could put all this together and show it on the big screen at half time at maybe our last home game of the season. Its good entertainment showing where HP started to being demolished. The LSV from start to finish. Along with pics and footage of our past players and games. It is something that I wanted to get off the ground for the closing of HP but never happend. Now we have the big screen already there I think it would be fantastic presentation.

Top idea , would look really good on the big screen too , am sure the fans would love to see a presentation like that

I've already sent Fred some of my pics but there's that many it's difficult to choose the best ones, anyway I'd be more than happy for some of my pics to be used in a video - there's no point taking photos if no one ever gets to see them!

apparently the 'big screen' is lacking some hardware to allow it to show any video or photo material but Andrew should perhaps be able to enlighten us more.

thing to come out of it the Great Local Hero Tommy Sale is still with us after all these years to see the dawn of a new era for Leigh Rugby at its new home down Sale Way at the Sporting Village and that makes me feel proud to be a Leyther and proud to have spent so many happy days watching LEIGH RUGBY LEAGUE TEAM PLAY at the ground created by so much hard work by Tommy & Co THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

Could you not make a short film, photographs and video combined - make a DVD, sell it, giving any profit to LISA or something?

I have tried umpteen of those gadgets and have found none to be very good, if you know someone who has a DV camera with DV -IN then they could put the footage onto computer using your camera attached to theirs and go through the firewire port straight digital conversion into your editor.
